ERA Reverb Remover Pro goes beyond our basic ERA Reverb Remover plugin to offer multiband operation. With fine tuning over the strength of a reverb signal’s low, low-mid, high-mid and high frequencies, audio clean up gets deeper but stays fast, simple and convenient.
No audio environments are created equal, so ERA Reverb Remover Pro lets you customize the profile of reverb reduction across the frequency spectrum. Whatever you want to get rid of, this extra layer of surgical processing can help.
Tailor reverb reduction to an overly bright environment such as a large, stone-walled church, push the plugin more strongly in the higher frequency bands.
Calm a room sound with peaks of resonant frequencies by changing the crossover bands and zero-ing in on harsh spots, applying more reverb removal.
Use the Diff function to output the reverb signal only, letting you hear exactly what you’re removing while tweaking the settings further to taste.
You can get ERA Reverb Pro as part of the ERA Bundle Pro, a complete audio restoration solution. It also features our ERA Noise Remover Pro for intense noise reduction; De-Esser Pro for advanced sibilance removal; and our Room Tone Match for creating consistent ambience between dialogue tracks. It also features all the ERA Bundle Standard plugins: Voice Leveler, De-Breath, Plosive Remover, De-Esser, Reverb Remover, Noise Remover, De-Clipper, Voice AutoEQ, Voice Deepener, Audio Clean-Up Assistant and Mouth De-Clicker.
ERA Reverb Remover Pro can be bought and installed as part of the ERA Bundle Pro. For comprehensive instructions on installation, check our Help Center guides on macOS and Windows installation. ERA Reverb Remover Pro runs as a VST, Audio Units or AAX plugin within a piece of host software: a DAW or an NLE such as Avid Pro Tools, Apple Logic, Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Ableton Live, Adobe Audition and many others.
When you load ERA Reverb Remover Pro in your DAW or video editor of choice, you’ll see the main Master Processing dial set to nearly 12 o’clock. The plugin immediately begins analyzing the input audio for its reverberant profile and reducing the reflections in the audio. You can turn the Master Processing control up to increase the reverb reduction, or turn it down to back things off.
To the left, the Processing Response dial determines the quality – in other words, the amount of time the plugin has to ‘think’ before processing the audio. Setting a Slower response improves processing quality but introduces latency when you press play on your project; a Faster response will give your CPU an easier time.
Just using these two controls, the reverb removal process has already achieved great results, but we can customize the intensity of a particular band over the others. Let’s say that our reverb is well-removed in the high and low frequencies, but the high-mid frequencies are particularly resonant, and need more reverb removal than the others.
We can reduce the low-mid frequencies further than the others by bringing down the low-mid slider even further. This relative difference will remain if we go back to tweak the overall Master Processing slider later. Bands can be customized using a set of band tools. You can drag a horizontal band divider left or right to increase or decrease the range of a band, and there are audition and link options to toggle for each band.
Here you can also combine two bands into one or create another band, up to a maximum of six.
Once the reverb signal has been fully removed, we can apply the ERA Plosive Remover (also available as part of the ERA Bundle Pro) to improve the low-frequency response. Depending on the frequency profile of the reverb signal, it may be worth experimenting with the order of the two plugins in the signal chain to see what works best for your particular recording.
Other functions within ERA Reverb Remover Pro include Difference auditioning (to solo the removed reverb signal only); A/B comparison; Input and Output gain, as well as a Bypass operation.
